Wild Brown Bear has a total of 21 hides from which you can observe and photograph the wildlife. These hides are only a short 700m walk from the main lodge, and a level wooden path guides the way to the hides. Due to the Wild Brown Bear Centre having the most hides of its kind in the area, there is no limitation to the amount of photographs that can be made, with stunning backgrounds and scenery, making for interesting and unique shots.
The hides are situated; in a small open wetland area, near a small pond and inside a pine forest clearing. These different placements each offer a unique perspective on the landscape and the results from each can be dramatically different. 17 out of the 21 hides have been built specifically for photography, with the openings situated at the bear’s eye level, and these are placed in the best areas for photographing the wildlife. These hides offer an outstanding and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for photographers to observe and capture images of the wildlife in its natural habitat.
Wild Brown Bear Centre provides - 3/8” Mounting screws, which can be used to secure a; Ball-head, Gimbal mechanism, or any other tripod head, to the timber frame inside the hide. It is also important to note that due to the design of the hides, you are able to comfortably use your tripod legs as another option. The hides are also fitted with; blankets, sleeping bag, toilet and cushions.
The Wild Brown Bear Centre specialises in observing the wildlife at very close distances; specifically the bear and wolverine. Although long telephoto lenses can be used effectively it allows the photographer to express creativity with wide angle lenses as well.
Walking from the main lodge to the hides is an enjoyable experience. There are no steep inclines or declines en route, and there is the opportunity to spot various bird species along the way. Under exceptional circumstances, 4X4 transport can be used to travel between the lodge and the hides.
